Acting on behalf of their child, our client brought forth this case. On an ordinary evening, they ordered a meal for themselves and their spouse, along with two Happy Meals, one for each of their children, from a McDonald's drive-thru. Shortly after receiving the Happy Meal, a distressing incident occurred – their child screamed in agony as a McNugget lodged between their inner thigh and the car seat. This unfortunate event left the young, 4-year-old autistic child with deep 2nd-degree burns due to a McDonald's chicken nugget from the Happy Meal.
Strategically, our law firm divided this case into two trials. In the first phase, a jury found McDonald's USA LLC & UpChurch Foods Inc liable for causing harm to our young client. Moving on to the second phase, a fresh jury reached a fair and just verdict, awarding our client $400,000 for past damages and an additional $400,000 for future damages, amounting to a total of $800,000. This verdict ensures justice for the young child and upholds accountability for the transgressions of multimillion-dollar corporations.
