How Do You Find A Good Personal Injury Lawyer?

It’s all in the eye of the beholder— that is, “How do I find a good lawyer?” That’s a common question people have. But it’s never really asking what it seems at face value; with so many practicing lawyers in the US, one need only swing a stick to find one. No, the question is not about how to locate an attorney, but rather how to tell if an attorney is good or not. People’s first and most influential recourse is other people, whether they’re a friend, relative, or just an online reviewer. References, recommendations, testimonials, all of those factor into people’s perception of a lawyer’s quality and ultimately the decision they make. Some people look online for reviews, other people ask friends and colleagues, and to that extent, whatever works best for them is just as good as anything else. But what I would encourage people to do is, once they feel as though they’re speaking with a good lawyer, really dig deep. Look past the things they say in their commercials, the things they put on their brochures. It’s beyond just their education and where they got their degree from. It’s beyond their years of practice and how long the firm has been in their family. A lot of people say, “Well, I’ve been in business 25 years.” What have you done in those 25 years? What have you done in the last 25 months for your clients? Those are the questions a prospective client should ask. Get a better feel for whomever it is that you find yourself gravitating towards before you make any final decisions. There are too many attorneys out there, and having too many choices readily available only makes it harder and more stressful to make a decision.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed and give up, thinking that if every lawyer is so good, then certainly any one of them could be the right one for you. Not every lawyer is the right one for you; not every lawyer even has the potential to be the right one for you. One thing we pride ourselves on at Fischer Redavid is not taking the approach that many other firms do: tons of cases, mostly low-quality, with clients not getting the attention they deserve. We provide a one-on-one, more individualized approach. We keep our caseload low in volume and high in quality. We feel that this gives us a better understanding of what our clients need, and it gives us the time to devote to each case, so none get swept under the rug or forgotten. We take pride in all our work. Granted, some people may not be looking for that. So the best thing anyone can do is really determine what their interests and their priorities are, then dig deep into any attorney they meet to ensure that they’ll be getting the best legal representation possible. If you prefer individual attention and meticulous care devoted to your interests, if the way we do things appeals to you, please contact us. We’d love to start a conversation and get to know you.
